Lubinets reacts to the shooting of civilians in Selydove

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets responded to the alleged shooting of two women by Russian occupiers in Selydove, Donetsk region. He sent letters to the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Shooting of civilians in Selydove
"Today, social media has reported that Russians may have killed civilians in the town of Selydove. If the facts of the crime are proven, this is not only a violation of human rights, it is a gross violation of the laws and customs of war, the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War," Lubinets emphasized.
According to him, those responsible must be held accountable.
The Ombudsman immediately sent letters to international organizations such as the UN and the ICRC. Lubinets is currently waiting for a response.
He emphasized that Russia commits crimes every day in Ukraine, and the aggressor must be stopped.
As a reminder, law enforcement officers have initiated an investigation into new war crimes committed by the occupiers in Donetsk region. It is known about the shooting of several civilians.
Also on October 21, the occupiers again shot two Ukrainian prisoners of war near the village of Selydove in the Donetsk region.
