The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the Russian "Buk-M3" air defense system. The defenders managed to destroy the enemy object, which was located 60 kilometers from the front line.
This was reported by the General Staff of Ukraine on Monday, October 21.
Destruction of the hostile "Buk-M3" air defense system
It is reported that on the night of October 21, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, destroyed the "Buk-M3" air defense system. This happened as part of the implementation of combat missions to detect and destroy the air defense systems of the Russian occupiers.
"The complex was located about 60 kilometers from the line of combat contact. Depending on the kind, its cost may range from 40 to 50 million dollars," the report says.
What is known about the "Buk" air defense system
"Buk-M3" is a medium-range air defense system for the ground forces. This weapon is designed to combat maneuvering aerodynamic targets, fire at radio-contrast ground targets, and destroy surface targets in conditions of intense fire and electronic countermeasures.
Depending on the kind of the "Buk-M3" air defense system, the cost may range from 40 to 50 million dollars.
Russian invaders are actively using such hardware against Ukraine. The first "Buk-M3" air defense system were recorded on the territory of our state on the twentieth of March 2022.
Currently, Ukrainian defenders have already learned to counter this type of enemy weapons, effectively using UAVs and HIMARS rocket launchers against them.
Previously, the fighters of the 3rd Separate Tank "Iron Brigade" destroyed an enemy tank.
It should be recalled that the drones of the 71st Brigade effectively destroyed the logistics of the Russian army. The Ukrainian military managed to stop the movement of the enemy "Ural" and shoot down the enemy infantry.
