Attack on a refinery in Rostov region

At night, the Navy and the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, attacked the infrastructure and production facilities of JSC "Novoshakhtinsky Oil Products Plant" in Rostov region of Russia.

According to the SSU, the drones initially overloaded the Russian air defense system protecting the plant, creating a window for Ukrainian missiles to fire.

As a result of the attack on the refinery, a large-scale fire broke out at the catalytic cracker unit, which is designed to produce liquefied petroleum gases.

It is known that this refinery was the only one operating in the Rostov region. The facility specialized in the production of fuel oil, heating oil, marine and diesel fuel, and straight-run gasoline.

The design refining capacity of the plant reaches 7.5 million tons of oil per year. It was used to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.

Earlier, the interim governor Yuriy Slyusar reported on the work of air defense forces in Rostov region.
