On the night of Thursday, January 23, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia. The shelling killed one person and wounded 25 others.

This was reported by the head of the Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov via Telegram.

"The attack began yesterday at about 9:50 p.m.: the enemy attacked the city with shaheds and six drones damaged primarily a power facility, and one industrial facility," Fedorov said.

As a result, the city's residents and critical infrastructure facilities, such as boiler houses, health and welfare facilities, were left without power.

In total, the air raid lasted more than six hours, and later in the morning the Russians hit Zaporizhzhya with four more ballistic missiles — the enemy hit the same power plant and many residential buildings, one of which has been almost destroyed. As a result, 24 people were wounded, 10 of them in moderate condition, including an infant. Rescuers and power engineers who responded to the previous attack were also injured.

Currently, more than 20,000 customers in the city are left without power and another 17,000 are without heat. Emergency services and volunteers are working to repair the damage.

Later, Fedorov clarified that the number of wounded had increased. In total, 25 people sought medical assistance.

Earlier, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration showed photos of the aftermath of the enemy attack on the city. The blast wave damaged residential buildings: windows were smashed and the roof was damaged.

It was also reported that people were trapped in the rubble after the Shahed hit Zaporizhzhia.
