The facility was home to Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers belonging to the 22nd Heavy Bomber Division of the Russian Federation.
As a result of the attack, tanks with rare aviation fuel caught fire on the territory of the Kristall oil depot. This fuel is used for Tu-160 bombers, which Russia uses to launch missile attacks on Ukrainian civilian targets.
The operation, which lasted several days, was aimed at reducing the combat capabilities of the enemy's strategic aviation.
"We are doing everything to ensure that the firefighters of Engels, who have just extinguished the flames after the previous attack, is not going to be left without a job in the increasingly difficult economic situation in Russia," the soldiers commented.
The fire at Engels lasted for several days. The fire was so intense that it was impossible to extinguish.
