Ukraine can now detect expensive Russian air defense systems and rocket launchers at the front
Russia now lose expensive and rare pieces of air defense systems and multiple launch rocket systems. Ukrainian defenders are more often discovering important enemy equipment that covers the airspace on the front line.
This was stated by Ivan Tymochko, Chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on Ukrainian radio.
Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy rare enemy equipment
Ivan Tymochko noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun to destroy enemy air defense systems and MLRS more frequently. Most of the Grad and Smerch systems, which Russia had in its stockpile in large numbers, were neutralized by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2022. However, among the recently destroyed objects, there were some interesting machinery that are rarely seen in service in Russia.
"Air defense systems — the same TORs — are an indicator that we are able to knock out their air cover near the front line. TORs tend to shoot down drones, although their main purpose is to shoot down aircraft," Tymochko said.
Hostilities intensified
Meanwhile, the occupiers are suffering heavy losses, indicating that the fighting is intensifying.
"We have information that the enemy is now trying to break through to Toretsk, extremely active fighting is taking place there. In addition, the Kurakhove direction, Kurakhove-Selidove, is not calming down, as the enemy wants to level the front line in this area. It is also the area of Pokrovsk, because we know that the enemy made attempts to attack in the area of Vodiane, northeast of Vuhledar. The Robotynsky ridge is activated, especially the Staromaiorske area. There are no tank attacks there, but infantry has become more active," said Ivan Tymochko.
Russian troops are also attacking the Vovchansk and Lypky areas. Fighting has intensified in the direction of Lyman-Kupiansk, towards the Oskil water reservoir. Moreover, Russian occupiers have sent additional troops to the Kursk region.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Intelligence fighters were able to use a drone to capture an expensive enemy Wasp Anti-aircraft missile system worth at least $10 million.
The Third Assault Brigade also showed how they were able to destroy Russian equipment and hideouts in the Kharkiv region.
