Russians use videos of interrogations of Ukrainian prisoners of war for information warfare. Such materials are distributed to demoralize Ukrainians.

The Ukrainian Air Force published a statement via Telegram on Monday, December 16.

Russians put pressure on captured Ukrainians

According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy is trying to spread propaganda narratives through interrogations. This creates the illusion of "distrust" in the military and political leadership of Ukraine and spreads narratives about the "surrender" of territories.

"The videos may contain statements taken out of context or inaccurate facts that can be interpreted in favor of the enemy. In this way, the aggressor is trying to form false ideas about the situation at the front and the general mood in Ukrainian society," the statement reads.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also emphasized that prisoners of war may testify under physical or psychological pressure. During interrogations by the Russians, Ukrainian defenders may be forced to voice what they are being forced to say.

"This is not evidence of betrayal or lack of patriotism, but rather the result of difficult conditions of captivity," the Air Force emphasized.

As a reminder, Dmytro Lubinets said that Russia denies medical care to Ukrainian prisoners of war. The occupiers are depriving Ukrainian prisoners of the right to communicate with their families and torturing them.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said that there may be positive news about the return of Ukrainians from Russian captivity by the New Year. However, there is a possibility that the enemy will disrupt the agreements.
