According to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, 20% of the ammunition in the combat zone do not go off after its use. However, a way has now been found to use it in favor of the Defense Forces.

This was reported to the Ministry of Defense on Tuesday, October 15.

Processing of ammunition

"Today, we took an important step in the direction of security and efficiency in the liberated territories," the Minister said.

Umerov added that according to approximate estimates, up to 20% of the ammunition in the combat zone do not work. In this regard, a mechanism was developed that will help not only to dispose of dangerous objects, but to direct this process in favor of the Defense Forces.

According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, the government has allowed the processing of explosive items using mobile complexes directly at demining sites.

This will make it possible to obtain valuable processing products for the needs of the Armed Forces.

Previously, we reported that personnel changes took place in the Ministry of Defense. Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk, who previously managed the defense of Kharkiv, and Serhii Boev, who held the post of deputy head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries, became Rustem Umerov's deputies.

The Minister of Defense also announced large-scale changes in the defense procurement system. He also claimed that he was dismissing several of his deputies.
