Three Russian captains were eliminated in Zaporizhzhia axis

Three captains of the Russian army were killed in Zaporizhzhia region. The attack was carried out using HIMARS, with strike drones also deployed.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense via Telegram on Friday, December 27.

"Three senior officers of the Russian occupation forces were eliminated as a result of a successful operation by the Department of Active Operations of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Tavria operational group of troops," the statement said.
The DIU obtained information about a planned meeting involving officers from the command of the Fourth Guards Military Base of the Russian occupation forces engaged in the war against Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region.
After checking and confirming the information received, the intelligence officers developed a plan, which was implemented by the units of the Tavria Special Forces, the Unmanned Systems Forces alongside Typhoon Tactical Group of the Security Service of Ukraine.
After the start of the occupiers' field meeting, a HIMARS strike targeted a gathering of Russian officers and their vehicles. Following the arrival of evacuation teams, they were attacked by strike drones of the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces.
In total, three Russian officers were eliminated:
- Dmitry Olegovich Nagorny, commander of the first battalion of the 135th motorized rifle regiment of the Russian Federation;
- Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Chief of Intelligence of the 135th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Russian Federation, Krokhmalov Grigoriy Aleksandrovich;
- Yuriy Viktorovich Fomin, commander of the anti-aircraft battery of the Fourth Guards Military Base of the Russian Federation.
In addition, five pieces of equipment were destroyed.
As a reminder, Ukrainian military Kyrylo Sazonov said that the losses of the Russian occupiers significantly exceed the rate of their recruitment.
The DIU also intercepted a conversation between the Russians in which they discussed significant losses among the occupiers.
