Syrskyi on the situation in the Kursk region
Ukrainian troops continue active operations in the Kursk sector, and Russian President Vladimir Putin's statements that the Defense Forces are surrounded are not true. The Russian army continues to suffer losses.
This was stated by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrskyi via Telegram on Friday, October 25.
The situation in the Kursk sector
Syrskyi emphasized that Putin's statement made at the BRICS summit about the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region is outright disinformation that does not reflect the real situation.
"Ukrainian troops continue active operations in the Kursk direction, destroying the enemy's combat potential for the third month in a row," the statement said.
The Commander-in-Chief added that despite Russian pressure in this area, they still suffer losses in personnel and military equipment.
"In particular, starting from August 8 to the present, Russian troops in this section of the front lost 17819 people in personnel," Syrskyi emphasized.
The general clarified that, a total of 6662 occupants were killed, 10446 people were wounded, and 711 Russian servicemen were taken prisoner.
As a reminder, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported that the first DPRK military units that have been trained at Russian training grounds have already been spotted in the Kursk region.
We also reported that the Ukrainian military has recently advanced north of Sudzha as a result of fighting in the Kursk region of Russia.
