Russian mass media spread information that on Thursday, October 3, Ukraine allegedly hit the Kursk NPP with HIMARS missiles. However, this turned out to be false, and the hit took place at a Russian military facility.

A strike at Kurchatov on October 3
Thus, according to the head of the CCD, Andrii Kovalenko, such statements by the Russians are just lies. He explained that there is no expediency in striking the nuclear power plant.
"The Russians are showing some kind of fire in Kurchatov and on the video there is an explosion on the ground. What is the purpose of shelling the nuclear power plant? It is far away. It has nothing to do with the attack on the Kursk nuclear power plant," he said.
On the video of local residents, you can see how Russian soldiers run out of the facility. Also, the enemy himself got confused in his testimony: then they wrote about a French aerial bomb attack, then about a missile attack.
The reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgy Tykhyy, commented on the accusations of the Russians regarding the attack on the Kursk NPP.
"We categorically deny the claims of the Russian media about Ukrainian strikes on the Kursk nuclear power plant or near it," he said.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that, unlike the Russian occupiers, the Armed Forces strictly adhere to the norms of international humanitarian law and do not attack the civilian population or objects of civilian infrastructure.
It will be recalled that on September 8, an unknown drone attacked the ZNPP : it hit one of the substations.
The Ministry of Energy noted that the attack led to the blackout of the power supply line of the NPP. This put her on the verge of blackout.
