Night attack on Ukraine — Zelenskyy reacts to shelling of cities
On the night of November 8, Russian troops launched missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities. Residential buildings came under enemy fire, there are dozens of wounded and many dead.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy who shared the consequences of the enemy shelling.
Consequences of the night shelling of Ukraine
"Terrorists have been attacking our cities and communities all evening and night. Missiles, drones, and GABs against Odesa, Kharkiv, and Kyiv regions," the statement reads.
- Kharkiv
According to the President, as of now, more than 20 people have been reported injured in Kharkiv, including an infant. Residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged in the city.
- Оdesa region
As a result of the strikes in Odesa region, ordinary homes were damaged. One person was killed and nine others were injured.
- Zaporizhzhia
In addition, emergency and rescue operations continue in Zaporizhzhia after yesterday's attack. As of now, Russian shelling has claimed the lives of 8 people and injured more than 40 people, including 4 children.
Zelenskyy also said that last night, the Ukrainian military destroyed 4 aircraft missiles and about 60 attack drones used by Russia against Ukraine. He expressed his gratitude to the air defense fighters who are doing everything possible to protect our people, and to all those who are rescuing and helping.
"It is important to act jointly and decisively at the international level every time Russia tries to destroy our lives. We need to act to reduce the potential of terror, to block it. Ukraine needs the strength to do so. This is the only way to achieve a just peace and stop the deaths of our people. Air defense, long-range, weapons packages, sanctions against the aggressor — this is the answer that is needed not only in words but also in actions," the Head of State emphasized.
Last night, on November 8, the Russian army attacked Odesa and Odesa district with attack drones. As a result, one person was killed and civilian infrastructure was damaged.
In addition, on November 7, Zaporizhzhia came under enemy air strikes. The Prosecutor General's Office showed the consequences of Russian shelling.
