The geolocation footage shows that the soldiers have advanced in the center of Pohrebky. According to analysts, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have probably taken control of Orlivka, Maryivka, Mala Loknia, Stara Sorochyna and Nova Sorochyna. These settlements are located near Suzha.

"Russian milbloggers claimed that Russian troops had advanced in southern Plekhove (southeast of Sudzha), as well as near Novoivanivka (southeast of Korenevo) and Mala Loknya. However, ISW has found no confirmation of these allegations,"  the statement reads.

In addition, a Ukrainian fighter operating in the Kursk region said that the occupiers had launched the second phase of a counteroffensive operation. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the invaders are attacking with mechanized columns, but during these assaults, Ukrainian troops are successfully destroying Russian armored vehicles.

On the night of December 8, powerful explosions were heard in Kursk and Rostov regions. A missile threat was declared.

Earlier, Stanislav Buniatov, a platoon commander of the 24th Aidar Brigade, said that Russians had resumed active assault operations in one of the areas in the Kursk region.
