AFU repel 34 attacks near Pokrovsk — General Staff report

The 1002nd day of Russia's large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. Over the past day, 153 combat engagements took place. 

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Thursday, November 21.

Situation on the frontline

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy conducted four unsuccessful assault operations near Vovchansk and Starytsia.  

Over the past day in the Kupiansk direction, there were seven combat engagements. Defense forces successfully repelled enemy attacks near Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Kucherivka, Kruhliakivka, and Zelenyi Hai.  

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces halted ten enemy attacks. The Russian invaders focused their main efforts in the areas of Cherneshchyna, Zarichne, Hryhorivka, Serebrianka, and Terny.  

In the Siversk and Kramatorsk directions, the occupiers did not conduct assault or offensive actions. However, the enemy carried out airstrikes.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 34 attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance near the settlements of Myroliubivka, Pustynka, Promin, Krutyi Yar, Krasnyi Yar, Lyskivka, Yurivka, Zhovte, Petrivka, Dachenske, Novooleksiivka, Hryhorivka, and Pushkyne.  

Defense forces continue to hold back Russian advances in the Kurakhovу direction. Near the settlements of Berestky, Zoria, Sontsivka, Maksymilianivka, Katerynivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Antonivka, the occupiers made 29 attempts to breach Ukrainian positions.

In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped the same number of enemy attacks in the areas of Trudove, Kostyantynopolske, Rozdolne, Velyka Novosilka, and Novodarivka.  

In the Orikhiv and Hulyaipole directions, the enemy did not carry out any active operations over the past day.  

In the Prydniprovske direction, Ukrainian forces repelled six enemy assaults on their positions.  

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation remains without significant changes.  

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue operations in the Kursk direction. Over the past day, the occupiers launched 25 airstrikes, using 39 guided aerial bombs.

Occupants' losses over the past day

The Russian invaders suffered losses in the amount of 1510 people. In addition, the Ukrainian military destroyed eight tanks, 24 armored combat vehicles, 50 artillery systems, one MLRS, two air defense systems, 57 UAVs and 97 units of enemy vehicles.

As a reminder, in the Kursk region, Ukrainian soldiers captured 26 occupiers after they attempted to storm Ukrainian positions.

Also, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Anatolii Barhylevych, said that in some areas of the frontline, Russian invaders outnumber Ukrainian defenders by 4-8 times.
