On Tuesday, December 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded about the abducted Ukrainian children from Kherson. A total of 48 children were taken by the Russians during the retreat two years ago.

The Ukrainian leader announced this on Telegram.

Abduction of Ukrainian children

According to Zelenskyy, during the retreat from Kherson two years ago, Russians abducted 48 children. None of them was even three years old: most were forcibly transferred to the occupied territory of Crimea, and the rest were deported to Russia.

"Ukrainian children are not toys, although it seems that for Russian rich people and officials they are. Behind each of these children is a life that should not be lost. A fate that should not be lost,"  the President emphasized.

He added that we must do everything to ensure that Ukrainian children return home and thanked the partners who help in this regard.

To recap, the first deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, Yurii Sobolevskyi, explained on Ranok.LIVE why a large number of children still remain in the region despite the evacuation.

And Taras Chmut, head of the Come Back Alive Foundation, warned of the threat of a Russian offensive on Kherson. He believes that the enemy is trying to make the city uninhabited.
