Soldiers of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade captured a DPRK soldier in the Kursk region. He was wounded and tried to commit suicide to avoid being captured by the Defense Forces.

The video was posted by the Command of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook on Tuesday, January 21.

How Ukrainian paratroopers captured a DPRK fighter

The military said that it all started with an assault and there was a very strong Korean onslaught. However, with the help of drones, the paratroopers stopped the enemy's advance. The DPRK soldier who was captured by Ukrainian defenders was wounded. He was wearing Russian equipment and waved to the soldiers of the 95th Brigade, thinking that they were Russian soldiers.

It is noted that the Korean was given sausage and led to an armored vehicle to be transported further. Then he accelerated with all his might and crashed into a pillar in an attempt at suicide. However, everything went well, and he was handed over to the Security Service for questioning.

"It is no secret that North Korean soldiers do not surrender, they are ready to commit suicide just to avoid being captured by Ukrainian soldiers," the Command said.

In addition, the Armed Forces soldiers said that the DPRK soldiers were likely ordered not to surrender to conceal evidence of North Korea's participation in the war.

As a reminder, on January 11, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had captured two DPRK soldiers. Shortly after, the SSU provided details and showed a video of the interrogation.

At the same time, the ISW predicted when the Ukrainian Armed Forces will destroy all the DPRK troops that Russia has involved in the war. This will be possible in the middle of April 2025.
