Ukraine is preparing for mass production of the Trembita missile
Ukraine is working on the possibility of mass production of the long-range Trembita missile, which is capable of hitting targets up to 200 kilometers away. In addition, this missile is not expensive to produce.
This was reported by a military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan on Radio NV.
Production of the Trembita missile
According to Svitan, Ukraine should have started producing missiles such as the Trembita long ago. He added that the main advantages of this missile are its simplicity, cheapness, and the possibility of large-scale production.
"Up to 100 units per week of this missile can be produced thanks to a simple impulse engine that has been used for about 100 years. It is suitable for combat missions, particularly in kamikaze mode. The loud sound of the engine also has a psychological effect," emphasized Svitan.
He emphasized that the Trembita's range of 200 kilometers is sufficient to hit important targets such as airfields or military equipment, including in Millerovo. The missile's warhead weighing 20-30 kilograms is capable of causing significant damage to ground targets.
What is known about the Trembita missile?
As The Economist reported, Ukraine has been working on the Trembita missile for a year and a half. It can fly up to 200 km at a speed of 400 km/h. It is planned to launch the missile into mass production after the completion of field tests.
Media reports suggest that the approximate cost of a decoy missile is $3,000, and a set with a 20-30-kilogram warhead is $15,000.
As a reminder, in early December, Ukraine presented the Peklo drone-missile. Earlier, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that Ukraine had launched mass production of the Palianytsia missile.
