US President-elect Donald Trump said that the Ukrainian side is ready for a ceasefire. He is currently "formulating the concept of ending the war".

Trump said this in a comment to The New York Post.

Ending the war in Ukraine

After a trilateral meeting in Paris, attended by Trump, Zelenskyy, and Macron, the future White House chief said that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire. Trump considers it "an important step forward".

"Zelenskyy is committed to a ceasefire. He wants to make peace. We have not talked to him about the details. But he thinks it's time," he said.

Trump noted that Putin should also think the same way because he lost, having lost 700,000 people in the war in killed and wounded.

At the same time, he added that he was already "formulating a concept" to end the war in Ukraine.

Earlier, the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, noted that Trump's rhetoric during the election and now is different. Representatives of the new administration understand the situation regarding Ukraine.

And Axios wrote that Trump was convinced by Macron to meet with Zelenskyy because he was hesitant.
