The situation with the mass absence without leave (AWOL) in the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Anne of Kyiv" was analyzed and the relevant conclusions were drawn. The experience will be taken into account during further training of servicemen.
It was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Facebook on Thursday, January 23.
Situation in the 155th Brigade
According to Syrskyi, the 155th Brigade is gradually acquiring certain combat capabilities.
"All the negative aspects and difficulties that arose during its deployment in Ukraine have been analyzed, conclusions have been drawn and will be taken into account in the further training of the servicemen," it is said in the statement.
The Commander-in-Chief added that France was the first country to respond to the request to create a mechanized brigade and fulfilled all its obligations to train and equip the 155th Brigade.
Syrskyi also devoted the day to work in the Pokrovsk sector, where the enemy is concentrating its main efforts and conducting active offensive operations.
"While working at the command posts, I listened to the brigade commanders about the peculiarities of combat operations, problematic issues and took all measures to resolve them," the general emphasized.
Earlier, we reported that the former commander of the 155th Brigade "Anne of Kyiv", Dmytro Ryumshyn, was sent to a pre-trial detention center. He is suspected of allowing desertion among his subordinates. In total, about 1,700 soldiers have left the Brigade without permission, including cases of AWOL in France during the trainings.
