Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost about 650 thousand people in killed and wounded. Most of those killed by the occupiers were shot by them.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with the Times of India.

Russia's losses in the war

According to the President, it’s difficult to fight a country where there’s only one law: if they don’t advance, their own side will shoot them.

"Russia has killed many of its mobilized soldiers because they feared advancing, dying under fire, or getting wounded. That’s their law," he said.

Zelenskyy noted that Russian forces already have about 650 thousand dead and wounded, and the bodies of the fallen are left on the battlefield.

"This is the face of Putin and the face of this war. Yes, in the east, they’re pushing against us precisely because of this, through this "meat grinder", because they overwhelm us with their own dead," he explained.

He added that when Ukrainian forces launched an offensive in the Kursk region, the occupiers started killing their own civilians who had stayed in their homes. Meanwhile, our soldiers are bringing them food and water, sharing what they have.

In addition, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's Victory Plan is not a topic of negotiations with Russia.

He also explained how Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi could influence the end of the war in Ukraine.
