The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the situation in the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting an operation. Russia has deployed tens of thousands of troops there.

This is what he said during a telethon.

What is going on in the Kursk region?

As of October 10, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Russian military command has relocated about 50 thousand of its troops to the Kursk region.

"We know that around 50 thousand troops have been transferred to the Kursk direction from other areas," said Oleksandr Syrskyi.

He explained that this move is advantageous because Russia has redeployed its forces from other fronts in Ukraine where it is conducting offensive operations, namely in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, as well as the Kramatorsk direction.

"This, of course, has eased the conditions for us to conduct defensive operations," Syrskyi added.

As reported by Bloomberg, senior U.S. officials have suggested that Ukraine could hold the occupied territories in the Kursk region for months and explained how this could be beneficial

The Ukrainian military also explained Russian tactics in the Kursk region and how they repel attacks.

The German general gave his assessment of the Ukrainian military's operations in the Kursk region and predicted whether Ukraine would have enough forces to hold its positions.
