Missiles and over 100 drones — how many air targets were shot down this night

On the night of October 16, Russian troops fired various types of missiles and more than 130 attack drones at Ukraine. Air defense destroyed 51 enemy Shaheds.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Results of Air Defense operations on the night of October 16
The agency reported that from 7:00 p.m. on October 15 to 07:00 a.m. on October 16, the occupiers fired into Ukraine:
- a guided S-300/400 missile was launched at the Donetsk region from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region;
- an X-59 guided air-launched missile was fired at the Chernihiv region from the airspace over the Kursk region;
- 136 attack UAVs (launch areas: Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk).
As is known, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the attack.
"As of 07:00 a.m., 51 enemy UAVs were shot down during an air defense battle in the Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Ternopil, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Chernivtsi regions. Due to active electronic warfare (EW) measures, 60 Russian drones were lost from radar in various regions of Ukraine, and the information is being clarified," the report states.
Meanwhile, over 20 additional UAVs remain in Ukraine's airspace, and combat operations are ongoing. Additionally, two enemy drones have retreated back towards Russia.
"We once again emphasize that if you find suspicious objects that look like drones, do not do anything on your own! Immediately report the dangerous find to the police, the State Emergency Service or the local military administration," the Ukrainians were urged.
Last night, the air raid alert in Kyiv lasted for more than two hours. Explosions were heard in the city, but air defense destroyed all enemy targets.
In addition, late in the evening on October 15, explosions were heard in Kharkiv. The occupiers struck the city with GABs, and there have been direct hits.
