Zelenskyy outlines the first step to end the active phase of the war

A mutual cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure could be the first step toward ending the hot phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes. If Moscow and Kyiv agree to stop strikes on infrastructure, it will be a significant step towards de-escalating the conflict.

What Zelenskyy specifically noted
"We saw during the first peace summit that a decision on energy security could be made. In other words: we do not attack their energy infrastructure, they do not attack ours. Could this lead to the end of the active phase of the war? I think so," President Zelenskyy told the Financial Times.
According to the publication, Russian and Ukrainian delegations had planned to meet in Qatar to agree on a mutual two-month halt to attacks on each other’s energy infrastructure.
However, Russia decided to stop the process amid the advancement of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region. The Kremlin stated that no clear agreements had been reached.
As a reminder, President Zelenskyy believes that, in practice, Ukraine is already a member of the North Atlantic Alliance. He noted that Ukrainian forces are holding the front with weapons sent from around the world.
Earlier, we reported that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte assured that Ukraine's future in the Alliance is already determined. According to him, Ukraine's course towards NATO membership is irreversible.
