A Pentagon spokesperson confirmed the deaths and injuries of DPRK soldiers in Kursk region. He said that North Korea had indeed provided troops to participate in hostilities on the side of Russia.

Pat Ryder said this at a briefing, according to Sky News.

DPRK military killed in Kursk region

In the western part of Russia's Kursk region, there are signs of North Korean military deaths or injuries, Pentagon spokesman Major General Pat Ryder said. According to him, North Korea has provided troops to participate in the fighting on the side of Russia.

"We believe that North Korean soldiers were involved in the fighting in Kursk... We have evidence that they suffered losses, both killed and wounded," Ryder said during the briefing. The exact number of killed and wounded is currently unknown.

This information confirms the data released earlier by the Institute for the Study of War think tank. Experts noted that North Korean troops fighting alongside Russians in the Kursk region are facing significant losses, poor communication, and a lack of coordination with Russian units. This is likely to undermine the effectiveness of Russian military operations in the region.

As a reminder, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, said that the losses of the DPRK military are much higher than those shown in the video from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. ISW analysts also named the reasons for the high losses among the North Korean military, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained how Russia is trying to hide the high losses among the DPRK military.
