The Russian command gave the military a cynical order. The occupiers were told to shoot Ukrainian prisoners.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine via Telegram on Thursday, December 19.
Russians shoot captured soldiers
The occupier, who himself had been captured, admitted to the order from the command to shoot Ukrainian prisoners. He was detained by border guards of the Forpost brigade.
"They told us not to surrender and to neautralize the prisoners," the Russian said.
The man was captured by Ukrainian border guards during a battle. It turned out that out of 51 years of his life, this Russian had spent 37 years imprisoned. Before going to the front, the man had been trained for two weeks.
As a reminder, in 2024, the Russian military shot 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war, and these are only the figures that have been officially confirmed. At the same time, there was no effective response from the international community to these war crimes.
Russian occupiers shot four prisoners of war in the Donetsk region. A pre-trial investigation has been launched.
