Germany has transferred additional IRIS-T launchers to Ukraine

This was reported by Christian Freuding, Head of the special staff for Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, in an interview with RND.
IRIS-T systems for Ukraine
Freyding said that last week, Ukraine received an IRIS-T SLM battery from Germany along with two IRIS-T SLS launchers. In addition, by the end of this year, Kyiv will receive two more such launchers.
The IRIS-T SLM battery was co-financed by Norway through a German initiative.
Also, according to the German general, the supply of tanks, artillery ammunition and infantry fighting vehicles will continue to Ukraine.
What do we know about IRIS-T
IRIS-T is a medium-range air and missile defense system developed by the German company Diehl Defense. It is designed to destroy airplanes, helicopters, drones and cruise missiles.
The IRIS-T missile is equipped with an infrared head that guides it to the target. At the same time, it does not emit anything and does not reveal its presence. The missile can hit a target at a distance of up to 40 km, but the homing head will only capture the target from a distance of 20 km.
By the way, the total cost of the entire complex, which includes a control center, missile launchers and a radar station, priced at near 140 million euros. A shot with one IRIS-T missile from the IRIS-T SLM complex costs about 400 thousand euros.
As a reminder, on September 26, Germany decided to provide an additional 400 million euros to supply weapons to the Ukrainian armed forces. Another 170 million euros will be used to restore Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
