Zelenskyy proposes to extend martial law and mobilization
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed to the Verkhovna Rada to extend mobilization and martial law in the country for another 90 days. If the decrees are approved, martial law and mobilization will last for three years.
The relevant draft laws No.12151 and No.12152 have been published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
Extension of martial law and mobilization in Ukraine
It is noted that draft law No. 12151 proposes to approve a presidential decree extending martial law until February 7, 2025. And draft law No. 12152 proposes to extend general mobilization in Ukraine.
Once the relevant documents are approved, mobilization and martial law will last for almost three years.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy last extended martial law and mobilization in Ukraine on August 7, and they will remain in effect until November 10, 2024. It should be noted that this was the twelfth extension. Before that, the President extended the necessary measures for the country's defense in May.
