On Wednesday, December 18, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine signed an agreement with Rheinmetall for the supply of charging modules for 155-mm artillery shells. The contract is worth €9 million.

This was reported by the press service of the defense company Rheinmetall.

Ukraine has signed a new contract with Rheinmetall

The contract, scheduled for execution in the fourth quarter of 2024, is worth about EUR 9 million. The agreement provides for the supply of tens of thousands of modules of various types to be delivered in January 2025. Rheinmetall is one of the world's leading manufacturers of large-caliber ammunition and missile systems.

Thanks to large-scale supplies and technical support, Rheinmetall has become a key partner of Ukraine in strengthening its defense capabilities in the face of Russian aggression.

During the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 in Berlin, the company and the Ukrainian side signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation. The document outlines plans for joint development of defense technologies and production.

"Specific projects currently in the planning stage include the production of artillery ammunition, as well as the supply and manufacturing of Lynx infantry fighting vehicles. In addition to potential direct deliveries from Rheinmetall, (re-) industrialization of national production expertise is set to make a significant contribution to Ukraine’s sustained defense capability," the Rheinmetall press service said.

At the end of October, Rheinmetall announced that it would build four of its plants in Ukraine and handed over 20 Marder combat vehicles.

In November, the company's press service also reported that Ukraine receives satellite imagery from them and ICEYE.
