The newly elected President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, made a statement regarding Ukraine's strikes deep into Russia with long-range weapons. He criticized this decision and opposed it.

Donald Trump said this during an interview with TIME.

"I categorically do not agree with sending missiles hundreds of miles into Russia. Why are we doing this? We are simply escalating this war and making it even worse. This should not have been allowed," Trump said.

During his election campaign, Trump claimed that he could achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine in 24 hours. However, he admitted now that this task turned out to be much more difficult.

According to him, the situation in the Middle East is easier to resolve.

"I think, before we talk about it, I think the Middle East is a problem that is easier to solve than what is happening with Russia and Ukraine. Okay, I just want to say this in advance. The Middle East will be solved," he emphasized.

Trump added that he would use Ukraine's support as a lever of influence on Russia.

It should be recalled that Trump was recognized as the person of the year by TIME magazine. The publication noted his political revival.

In addition, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainians have high hopes for Trump, who promised to end the war.
