Russian troops attempted to break through the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction. Ukrainian fighters stopped the enemy, inflicting significant losses.

The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this via Facebook on Wednesday, November 13.

What is the situation in the Kupyansk direction

According to the General Staff, Russian troops tried to break through the defense of the Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction on November 13, starting at 14:30.

It is noted that enemy assault groups attacked the positions of the Ukrainian military in four waves. In total, the enemy used about 15 units of hardware, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and a UR-77 demining installation.

"It should be emphasized that some of the Russian soldiers were disguised in the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This violates the laws and rules of warfare and is a war crime," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

Ukrainian fighters managed to stop the enemy, eliminating a significant part of the Russian manpower and destroying all armored vehicles.

"It is worth noting the professionalism and coordination of our infantrymen, tankers, artillerymen and UAV operators.
Gratitude to all soldiers for their courage and resilience!"
the message says.

It should be recalled that the National Guard fighters successfully repelled a large-scale offensive of the Russian army in the Siversk direction. The enemy suffered significant losses.

Previously, the situation on the battlefield may escalate in the coming weeks, as the occupiers' offensive may accelerate. By December, the front line may shift 30-35 kilometers to the west of its current position.
