Russia modernized Shahed drones — ISW explained what to pay attention to
The Russian occupation army has modernized its Shahed attack drones. From now on, the drones have gained higher altitude and higher speed.
This was reported by analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
How Russia has modernized its drones
Referring to the words of a Ukrainian soldier who serves in a mobile air defense unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, analysts noted that the Russians have modernized their Shahed drones and made them faster.
"Russian Shahed drones were previously very slow, difficult to maneuver, and could only fly at low altitudes. However, over time, the aggressor's military upgraded the components of the drones so that they could fly faster and higher," ISW quotes the military official.
Meanwhile, according to the defense serviceman, Ukrainian mobile air defense units have also improved their equipment and tactics to continue shooting down Shahed drones.
As a reminder, the expert recently explained why Shahed drone is so loud and why markings on drones are erased.
Previously, we wrote that about 200 women aged 18 to 22 were hired from all over Africa to work at the Alabuga plant. Together with Russian students from vocational schools, they are assembling thousands of Shahed attack drones designed to attack Ukrainian cities.
