Russia launches 131 UAVs at Ukraine at night — air defense report

Ukrainian air defense has once again repelled an attack by Russia, which launched drones and ballistic missiles at Ukraine on the night of January 21. It is known from where the air targets were launched and how many were neutralized by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia attacks Ukraine with drones and missiles

On the night of January 21, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine. The invaders used 131 Shahed attack drones. In addition, the enemy used various types of imitation drones and four Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

It is known that enemy aircraft were launched from Millerovo, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from the Voronezh region.

What targets Ukrainian air defense forces managed to neutralize?

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces managed to shoot down 72 attack drones in a number of regions. The explosions were heard in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Rivne regions.

Another 59 enemy imitation drones were lost locally. However, in Poltava and Cherkasy regions, institutions, outbuildings and private homes were damaged. There are no preliminary casualties, and special services are working to eliminate the consequences.

Recently, wreckage of Russian drones was found in Romania. Russia attacks Ukraine almost daily with drones and missiles — yesterday, January 20, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the number of air targets shot down.
