Negotiations between the leaders of the two countries lasted until midnight at Putin's residence in the Moscow region.

"We continue to make efforts to mediate in the exchange of prisoners. We are ready to make any efforts to resolve crises in the interest of peace and for the benefit of both sides," Sheikh Mohammed told Putin in the Kremlin.

Earlier, Putin thanked both Sheikh Mohammed and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their mediation efforts regarding Ukraine.
