Mass shooting of Ukrainian soldiers — what is known
On October 1, information appeared on Telegram channels about the alleged shooting of 16 Ukrainian servicemen by representatives of the Russian Armed Forces. According to the media, another war crime was committed by the Russian occupation army in the area of Mykolaivka and Sukhyi Yar villages of Pokrovsky district.
The video recorded how, under the control of the enemy, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine left the forestation. After they lined up, the occupiers opened fire on them. The wounded, who showed signs of life, were finished off at close range with automatic gunfire.
"This is the most massive known case of the Ukrainian prisoners of war execution at the frontline. And this is another evidence that the killing and torture of them is not an accident, but a purposeful policy of the Russian military and political leadership", the Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin pointed out.
As noted in the Prosecutor General's Office, such actions are a cynical and blatant violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualify as a grave international crime. Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of the military laws and customs violation, combined with intentional murder.
It should be reminded, that law enforcement officers continue to investigate the war crime committed by the Russian invaders against a Ukrainian soldier, whom they executed with a sword. The massacre of a soldier of the Armed Forces was carried out in Novogrodivka, Pokrovsky district, in Donetsk region.
Previously, Novyny.LIVE wrote that due to the execution of a Ukrainian serviceman by the Russian army, the Prosecutor General's Office started a pre-trial investigation. Currently, the circumstances of the committed offense are being investigated in order to identify the involved and guilty people.
