Energy resources, in particular oil, are one of the most important keys to peace. It can guarantee the real security to Ukraine.
It was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address on Thursday, January 23.
Russia wants to drag out the war in Ukraine
According to the Head of State, Ukraine is now actively working with partners, including Europe and the United States. Zelenskyy is convinced that it is necessary to continue to put pressure on Russia, as it is Russia that is to blame and wants this war.
"It is Russia that is trying to prolong the aggression and occupation. Of course, energy resources and oil in particular are one of the most important keys to peace and real security. And Europe needs to work more with America and other partners in the world, not with Russia, on energy resources. We are preparing our diplomacy, our international communication to guarantee strong positions not only for Ukraine but also for our entire Europe," Zelenskyy noted.
The President also provided details of today’s shelling of Zaporizhzhia. He noted that 52 people were injured, including rescuers. One person was killed.
"Every Air Defence System, every anti-missile is a lifesaver, and it is very important that our partners feel how much it really helps when our Air Defence is strengthened and when the military can report to the public about effective shootdowns, not hits," Zelenskyy noted.
As a reminder, during the Davos Forum, Donald Trump called on Saudi Arabia to reduce the price of oil again. He said this would help to end the war in Ukraine.
Six Russian oil tankers were subject to US sanctions. This is the first time Washington has imposed a ban on tankers before they have even started operating.
