Shelling and 200 attacks in one day — General Staff reports

The situation at the front remains tense, as the occupiers, using their superiority in manpower and equipment, attack the positions of the Ukrainian military. Thus, 199 combat engagements took place over the past day.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Situation at the front as of December 18

According to the General Staff, despite the tense situation at the front, Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the occupiers' onslaught and inflicting significant losses on the enemy. In total, 199 combat engagements were recorded over the past day.

In addition, the Russians dropped 75 guided air bombs (KABs) on the positions of the Defense Forces and populated areas, conducting over 4,300 attacks, including 89 from multiple rocket launch systems, and deployed around 1,800 kamikaze drones for strikes.

On the Kharkiv axis, the enemy made four unsuccessful assaults on our defensive positions near the town of Vovchansk, using ground attack aircraft.

On the Kupiansk axis, there were five enemy attacks over the past day. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy’s assault near Petropavlivka and Lozova.

On the Lyman axis, the Russians actively used aviation and conducted 21 attacks, attempting to breach our defenses near Zelenyi Hai, Terny, Novoegorivka, Makiivka, and in the Serebrianskyi forest.

On the Siversk axis, our forces repelled nine enemy attacks near Hryhorivka, Bilohorivka, Siversk, and Verkhnokamyanske.

On the Kramatorsk axis, three engagements took place over the past day near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.

On the Toretsk axis, the occupiers actively used bomber aviation. The enemy launched seven attacks towards Toretsk.

On the Pokrovsk axis, our defenders stopped 38 assault and offensive actions by the aggressor in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenke, Novyi Trud, Novovasylivka, Pishchane, Novoolenivka, Novopustynka, Chumatske, Ukrainka, Sukhy Yar, and Novoelyzavetivka.

On the Kurakhove axis, the Defense Forces repelled 28 attacks. The occupiers were most active in attempts to advance near Dachne, Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Kurakhove, and Yantarne.

On the Vremivka axis, the enemy launched 27 assaults on our positions in the areas of Kostyantynopil, Sukhi Yaly, Storozheve, Novosilky, Temyrivka, Novopil, and Novodarivka.

On the Hulyaipole axis, the enemy did not conduct active operations.

On the Orikhiv axis, our defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Novoandriivka, Orikhiv, and Novodanylivka.

What is the situation in Kursk region?

Over the last day in the Kursk axis, our defenders repelled 49 enemy attacks, the enemy made about five hundred artillery attacks, launched eight air strikes, and downed 10 guided aerial bombs.

Occupants' losses as of December 18

It is noted that Ukrainian defenders inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces and actively undermine the enemy's offensive potential in the rear. In total, the losses of the Russian invaders amounted to 1580 people over the past day. Ukrainian troops also neutralized:

  • four tanks;
  • 21 armored combat vehicles;
  • five artillery systems;
  • 64 operational and tactical UAVs;
  • 60 vehicles;
  • two units of special equipment.

Let us recall that Oleksandr Syrskyi recently revealed the length of the front line in kilometers. According to him, the most challenging situations are currently on the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.

We also reported that the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, commented on rumors of a possible Russian offensive on Zaporizhzhia.
