Residents of Cherkasy region heard the sounds of explosions around 8:05 a.m. An air raid alert was declared in the region, and citizens were urged to take cover.
The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a missile threat in the regions where air alert has been declared.
"A group of missiles in the east of Cherkasy region, heading west. Cherkasy to the shelter!" the military said in a statement.
As a reminder, Russian troops attacked Kyiv region with missiles on December 13. Air defense systems in the region were activated.
On December 13, explosions also occurred in Odesa during an air raid alert. The Russians attacked with cruise missiles.
