North Korea has sent 12 thousand soldiers to support the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine. They are currently undergoing training on Russian territory and will appear on the front line since November 1.

This was reported by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov in a comment to "The War Zone".

How many soldiers did the North Korea send to the war in Ukraine

Budanov reported that the North Korean troops will be ready for combat operations from November 1 and approximately at this time they will appear on the front line, using Russian hardware and ammunition.

"The first unit of 2,600 soldiers will be sent to Kursk. There is no information yet on further plans for the movement of the remaining North Korean troops. We do not have a complete picture right now," the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate said.

At the same time, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, added that North Korean troops are training at Russian grounds in the Bryansk region. According to him, in addition to the Kursk region, there is a possibility that they will be sent to the Belgorod region.

"They will be mixed with Buryats for camouflage, and they will not admit that these are North Korean troops, but it is very important that reconnaissance knows everything and Western partners are informed. This is not only a matter of Ukraine, but a matter of global confrontation," he noted.

In addition, Kovalenko emphasized that if we do not pay attention to this, do not take appropriate actions and Russia will get away with everything, then it will continue to expand its army with North Korean troops for the number of its military or transfer them to other parts of the front line.

What preceded

Let us recall that a few days ago, a number of media outlets reported that Russia was preparing to transfer North Korean troops to Ukraine. They are being prepared for deployment in border areas near Ukraine.

However, the enemy has previously used North Korean soldiers to participate in the war, and there have even been cases of these soldiers deserting from frontline positions.

Information about the intentions of the North Korea to transfer troops to Ukraine was also confirmed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He stated that North Korean officers are already in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
