The Main Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense starts working in Ukraine. It will check the facts of bullying of soldiers and extortion in the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Monday, December 16.

Scandal in the 211th Brigade of the Armed Forces

As Rustem Umerov stated, delaying investigations, family contracts, extortion and bullying of servicemen are unacceptable. The Minister of Defense is convinced that this cannot happen, especially in the third year of the war.

"Therefore, by my order, the Main Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense will immediately start working, which will verify the facts set forth in the article of "Ukrainska Pravda" regarding the situation in the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade of the Support Forces of the UAF," Umerov noted.

He also added that they are currently investigating why the Military Service of Law and Order investigated the case for so long. Umerov emphasized that all those guilty must be punished.

"We will also present a bill on the Military Commissioner for Human Rights, who will protect the rights of servicemen and guarantee transparency in each such case," he noted.

As a reminder, a scandal broke out in the 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade due to extortion of money, beatings, and even tying servicemen to a cross. Journalists revealed a number of abuses by the brigade commander.

Former Chief Sergeant of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Mahura" Valeriy Markus has published a video on his YouTube channel for the first time in 1.5 years of silence. He told what was happening in the command and why he made the decision to be transferred to a lower position.
