Zelenskyy briefed the military leadership — what was discussed
On Monday, January 13, the President of Ukraine briefed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Chief of the General Staff Anatoliy Barhylevych, Commander of the Ground Forces Mykhailo Drapatyi and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pavlo Palisa. They discussed the situation on the frontline and personnel changes.
Zelenskyy reported this on Telegram.
Report of the military leadership
"Report of the military. Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi, Chief of the General Staff Barhylevych, Commander of the Ground Forces Drapatyi, Deputy Head of the Office Palisa. The situation at the front: Pokrovske direction, Kurakhovo area. Needs of the frontline. Kursk operation. Some personnel issues were also discussed," it is said in the statement.
In particular, the leadership of the country is preparing to appoint the new Head of Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy. Five military candidates have already been proposed by Syrskyi and Drapatyi — all of them have experience in this war and are well-known in the army.
Zelenskyy considers each of them worthy but invited the military to take part in the election using the app Army+. The poll starts today and will last until January 17.
As a reminder, in late December, an order was signed to dismiss Pavlo Tkachuk from the post of the Head of the National Ground Forces Academy.
Also, on January 2, Defence Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov claimed that a comprehensive analysis of the activities of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be conducted.
