Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has named a condition for negotiations with Russia. According to him, the Russian army must withdraw at least to the borders of 2022.

The Ukrainian leader said this in an interview with Bloomberg.

Conditions for negotiations

"Negotiations can be fair and unfair. It can be either way, the question is: who will Ukraine be with during this time? Won't we be alone? Then Ukraine will do everything to ensure that the negotiations are fair — these are guarantees that the enemy will return at least to the line before the full-scale invasion," Zelensky said.

In his opinion, this would be fair and an opportunity to start a dialogue, and much depends on how we and our partners see justice: the same or different. At the same time, it depends on the United States, the new administration, the opinion and independence of the EU, and even the Global South.

"The question is whether Ukraine will be like it used to be in the Normandy format: there is Ukraine alone and all the others separately, or whether we will be allies and then Russia will be left alone," the president added.

Earlier, Zelenskyy called Ukraine's accession to NATO the cheapest guarantee of security and explained his opinion.

He also said that Western peacekeepers in Ukraine could help deter further Russian aggression. According to him, about 200,000 of them are needed.
