It is known that around 1 a.m., drones were flying over the region. That's when the explosions occurred, and then a fire broke out.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the drones that attacked Russian cities were allegedly shot down. It is noted that the roofs of houses were damaged as a result. However, at the same time, more than 100 rescuers are extinguishing the consequences of the "downing" of drones at the Atlas oil depot.

According to the Russian media, the Atlas oil depot specializes in storing oil products. It also supplies oil products to the Russian army.

In August 2020, the Ministry of Defense and the Rosrezerv held joint exercises at Atlas as part of the Caucasus 2020 exercise. The demonstration exercises involved three methods of supplying petroleum products for the army: by road, rail, and pipeline.

As a reminder, there were explosions in the Russian cities of Kaluga and Kursk. It is known that in the first city, unknown drones attacked an oil depot and the Typhoon plant.

The Ukrainian military attacked the Belgorod region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Oskolneftelektrosnab fuel and lubricants warehouse, causing a fire to break out.
