On October 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian companies can now produce four million drones a year. Thus, our country is trying to maintain its advantage over Russia in the number of drones.

This was reported by the Institute for War Studies on Thursday, October 3.

Weapons production in Ukraine

Ukraine continues its efforts to ramp up domestic production of military equipment. One of the country's primary goals is to maintain an edge over Russia in the number of drones.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian companies can currently produce four million drones per year. The country has already signed contracts for the production of 1.5 million drones, likely in 2024.

According to the report, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin recently announced that Russia plans to increase its drone production tenfold to 1.4 million in 2024. This will be fewer than the two million drones that Ukraine intends to produce in the same year.

Zelensky also mentioned that Ukraine can produce 15 self-propelled howitzers "Bohdana" each month, and there was a recent successful test of a domestically-produced ballistic missile.

Earlier, we reported that Ukraine has taken several important steps to address the shortage of human resources in the Armed Forces. However, delays and insufficiency of Western military aid continue to limit its ability to create effective combat units.

It's also worth noting that Ukrainian forces have made progress in the Hlushkivskyi district of the Kursk region. Currently, Ukrainian defenders are attacking a Russian military group in the area.
