Air Force reports number of enemy drones shot down

On the night of December 17, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine using 31 Shahed attack drones and other types of drones. Air defense forces managed to eliminate 20 enemy targets.

Drone attack on Ukraine on December 17

The air attack is reportedly repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.

"As of 12:00 pm, it has been confirmed that 20 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones were shot down in Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions," the statement said.

Also, thanks to the active counteraction of the Defense Forces, ten enemy drones did not reach their targets. One UAV is still in the air.

The Air Force also reported that they did not record any hits, and there was no information about damage or casualties.

Earlier we reported that explosions were heard in Kyiv today. According to preliminary information, the air defense forces are working.

We would also like to remind you that the newly created Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are testing a domestic laser weapon, the Tryzub. The exact characteristics are classified, but experts say that this laser may resemble American and British counterparts in terms of its capabilities.
