The Ministry of Defense has approved a sample of a new body armor for the military

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved a sample of a new body armor for the military. This is a simplified version.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense via Telegram on Thursday, October 10.

New bulletproof vests for the military

The purpose of the bulletproof vest is to protect the certain vital organs of the body during combat operations by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service.

The weight of the bulletproof vest is from 7.5 to 12 kg, depending on its size and configuration. Soft armor elements provide class 1 protection, and hard ones have a protection class of 6+.

"The lightweight body armor provides a high level of protection and comfort during combat missions, in particular for the soldiers of Special Operations Forces and Air Assault Forces. Such body armor will be especially useful for servicemen in intelligence groups and units, where it is important to combine lightness, mobility and reliability of protection," the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov said.

It should be reminded that in the nine months of 2024, the Ministry of Defense codified and authorized for use by the Defense Forces more than 140 unmanned aircraft complexes and 33 ground robotic complexes of Ukrainian production.

In addition, as of October 6, more than 20,000 Ukrainians applied to the Armed Forces Recruitment Centers. In particular, 20,150 people submitted applications, of which 5,091 were recognized as potential candidates for service, and 1,726 have already joined or will soon join the Armed Forces.
