Drone attack on Ukraine — how many drones were downed

On the night and morning of December 23, Russian troops fired 72 Shahed attack drones and other types of drones at Ukraine. Air defense was operating in nine regions.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Air Force, from 10:00 a.m. on December 22 to 9:00 a.m. on December 23, the occupiers launched 72 drones at Ukraine from the Russian cities of Bryansk and Orel. The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"As of 9:00 a.m., 47 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones have been confirmed downed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Odesa regions," the statement said.

In addition, due to the active counteraction of the Defense Forces, 25 enemy imitator drones were lost locally (without negative consequences).

As a result of the enemy attack in Khmelnytsky and Kyiv regions, private businesses and homes were damaged, with no casualties, and the victims are being provided with assistance.

As a reminder, yesterday, December 22, Russia launched a missile attack on Odesa region, launching X-31P anti-radar missiles from the Black Sea.

In addition, over the past day, the invaders attacked the Kherson region. Three people were killed by enemy shelling and infrastructure was destroyed.
