Ukraine destroyed an insanely expensive Anti-aircraft missile system "Wasp" — spectacular footage
Soldiers of the DIU's special unit managed to hunt down an expensive anti-aircraft missile system "Wasp" of the Russian occupiers using a drone. It is unusual because it was developed in the 60s, but today it costs $10 million.
The footage of the spectacular defeat of enemy equipment is demonstrated by the Kryla special unit on the DIU's Telegram channel.
What is special about the Wasp Anti-aircraft missile system coming from the soviet past
Its development began in the last century. The uniqueness lies in its all-terrain capability, as the Wasp can even swim.
Belarus and Ukraine have their own versions of the Wasp, which is currently being upgraded with modern radar equipment. That's why the Russian version of this SAM can cost so much money.
In general, this SAM is designed to fight helicopters, but today the enemy also uses it for anti-tank warfare. Therefore, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine notes that they were able to deprive the Russian occupiers of such valuable equipment thanks to an FPV drone worth several hundred dollars.
Previously, the DIU explained the importance of the liberation of the Vovchansk assembly plant for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Control of this enterprise will improve the logistics of the defense forces and create a springboard for further offensive and liberation of Vovchansk.
We also reported that the loss of control over the Vovchansk assembly plant was a serious blow to the image of the Russian army. The plant is now under constant bombardment. The Russians are targeting the plant with all available weapons, including heavy machine gun systems.
