Military and civilians — 25 more Ukrainians freed from captivity
Today, 25 more people were freed from Russian captivity to Ukraine. Among them are both military and civilians.
It was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram on Wednesday, January 15.
Return of Ukrainians from captivity
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is constantly working to bring its people home. Today, 25 more Ukrainians have been freed from Russian captivity.
"These are our military and civilians. Among them are the defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, as well as of our Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. The guys have serious injuries and illnesses. Each of them will receive all the necessary medical care," the President wrote.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the team that searches for Ukrainians and organizes exchanges. The Head of State also expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates, which facilitated today’s exchange.
As a reminder, Ukrainian woman Alla Spyrodynova has been waiting for her son Yurii to be freed from captivity for almost three years. The boy voluntarily joined the Army at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
Another rally in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war was held in Odesa. Participants of the event gathered to remind about the heroes who are now in captivity by the Russians.
