Ukraine debuts AI-driven drone with long-range strike capability
Brave1, a member of the Ukrainian military technology development cluster, and the Third Separate Assault Brigade have created a unique artificial intelligence-powered drone. This unmanned aerial vehicle can strike enemy targets over 50 kilometers (ca. 31 mi miles) away.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, announced this on Telegram.
Ukraine has created a drone with AI — specifications
"It helps hit targets at 50+ km. Brave1 and the 3rd Assault Brigade created a unique AI-powered drone," said the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
He added that Ukrainian defense innovations often originate directly from the battlefield, conceived by military engineers and developers. This is what happened with Dophin's Pavuk (Dophin's Spider — ed.). Its development began in the R&D laboratories of the 3rd Assault Brigade.
Dophin is the gaming nickname of a fallen comrade of the developers. The drone was developed in his honor and is now striking enemies at a distance of 50+ km.
Engineers from the 3rd Assault Brigade, together with Omnitech, developed this unique drone, and Brave1 helped codify it for military use.
Fedorov noted that this drone outperforms its foreign counterparts in key areas and can autonomously fix its position using artificial intelligence algorithms.
The AI drone's primary function is to establish reliable communication for strike UAVs operating deep behind enemy lines. Thanks to Pavuk, Ukrainian drones appear where the enemy least expects them.
According to the minister, 3rd Assault Brigade is destroying air defense systems, logistics, and other priority enemy targets with the help of Pavuk.
