A special agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine under the nickname "Lektor" eliminated the Russian invader at a distance of 2,069 meters. The invader was destroyed by a 338LM caliber bullet.

This was reported by the MID press service on Monday, December 16.

How the agent managed to do it

Ukrainian intelligence notes that the confirmed record for the 338LM caliber belongs to British sniper Craig Harrison, who hit two Taliban in Afghanistan at a distance of 2,475 meters in 2009. He fired from an advantageous position, lying down, in favorable weather conditions, and made nine aiming shots.

"The sniper of the MID "Lector" was actually on the same level of terrain as the Russian occupier, aimed during the harsh conditions of Ukrainian December, fired while standing in a trench at the enemy, who was moving in a landing — and hit with the first shot," the report says.

The agent noted that modern warfare does not allow the use of classic sniper positions due to the threat of enemy drones.

"In the conditions of modern warfare, you do not have the opportunity to climb out of a trench, lie down in a landing, etc. Enemy drones do not allow you to shoot from classic positions," the soldier explained.

The head of the MID of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, noted the record shot. He called it an achievement that will go down in the history of the struggle for freedom, and noted the professionalism of Ukrainian snipers.

"A masterful work that will definitely go down in the history of our struggle for freedom. Hitting a moving target at such a distance is a huge achievement; evidence of the high professionalism and concentration that Ukrainian military intelligence snipers are famous for. We continue the fight to destroy even more Russian occupiers," Kyrylo Budanov said.

The MID said that before the war, "Lektor" worked as a hunter, and went to the army with his son. Initially, he served in the intelligence of the territorial defense battalion, and since February 2023, he has been fighting in the ranks of the active operations unit of the MID of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Previously, during one of the most massive assaults in the Kharkiv region, border guards of the "Pomsta" brigade from the "23F3" sniper unit demonstrated effective defense, stopping the enemy's advance. They also managed to capture a Russian soldier.

Snipers from the Special Operations Forces killed four occupiers in the Donetsk region. Thus, the occupation army was left without four infantrymen.
